Electrostatic powder coating:
Powder paint is a manufacturing process called Electrostatic Spray Deposition (ESD), in which charged particles are sprayed on the surface of the piece with electrostatic force, and this coating adheres to the surface of the piece like a thin layer. Powder coatings are environmentally friendly because they do not require solvents, and their use is cost-effective because they can be recycled and reused many times. The powder coating covers the edges easily and the powder coated pieces have virtually no drips and the color does not fade, so your piece will be of high quality and durable.
Powder paints are usually sprayed as a completely dry powder directly onto a metal substrate. The part is generally fed into the spray booth using a spray gun. The painted parts are then placed in a 400°F oven with a baking time of 10-30 minutes. During the curing period, the powders are fused with heat and the coating chemically reacts to form long molecular chains, resulting in a high cross-linking density that creates a hard, insoluble coating.
The powder coating process was first developed in the 1940s and early 1950s. Originally a German scientist developed (and later patented) a fluid bed process for thermostatic powder coatings. And in the 1960s and early 1970s, there was renewed interest in the powder coating process and the use of electrostatic spraying, in which powder particles are charged and then sprayed onto a material, was developed.
Advantages of powder coatings
1- Non-toxic and free of heavy metals such as lead and cadmium
2- Very productive because they create little waste
3- Free from harmful solvents and vapors, thus reducing respiratory diseases and lung infections
4- Much more durable than liquid colors
5- In terms of fire risk, they are safer than liquid paints
6 - easy control and use and ready to use without professional training to painting personnel
7- Saving time and increasing production speed as a result of reducing energy consumption
8- Due to the ability to recycle, it is possible to use 95% of powder paint
9- High chemical and physical resistance compared to liquid paints increases the lifespan of painted parts
10- Powder coatings are the best choice for custom projects and colors
11 - easy maintenance, no special solvent or cleaner is needed.
12 - No damage to surfaces, rust and corrosion
13- This product has a long shelf life and can be used for many years after manufacturing
